iPhone app recommendations

edited July 2009 in General chat
A few friends and I swap iPhone app recommendations. It's the new football sticker swapping, I've been told. Anyway, I'm sure I'm not the only iPhone owner in the area so I thought it might be productive to swap a few recommendations on here? I'll start with _Eliss_—my favourite game on the iPhone. It's just a work of art—so beautifully executed. Fun, too. Currently only 59p. <http://itunes.com/apps/eliss>; Then there's the _National Rail Enquiries_ app, which helps me save time and makes sure I never wait too long at the train station. <http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=306687757&mt=8>; ps: I have nothing to do with these apps, just in case you think this is an advert of some sort.

That National Rail app is such a rip off.. there used to be a perfectly decent free one, too. [Tube Exits](http://www.tubeexits.co.uk/) is quite good.

I like pic2shop (takes a pic of a barcode and translates it into a search item so you can compare the price of stuff/check out the value of your collection. I think it is Amazon based so very cool for books and DVDs etc but limited on other things) Wild West is a really good pinball app and free. Have got the complete works of Shakespeare for free but a bit of a chore to read so more one for showing off... ECB Cricket is totally great and free too. Shazam (recognises songs, great), Skype also cool.

Pic to shop sounds interesting. I used to use MyRail Lite before the National Rail app. The official app is so much better, but yes it costs. For me it was money well spent as it's saved/made me money by using it. Of course, the other one would have done it in a slightly worse interface. National Rail are prehistoric with their attitude to their data. No RSS, etc
