La Vina - still there?
  • Has anyone been to/past La Vina recently? We've been trying to call them for 3 days, and only get their answerphone - even 20 mins ago, when they should be open!

  • i'm told (father in law) that is is shut, but (better news) may be moving to SGR. If they did the corner cafe it would be great

    Chang

  • That would be great - they could do a bigger place than the corner cafe I'd have thought?

  • We did eventually get through to them and they are still open - they just don't check messages often! I wouldn't mind if they brought their wild boar ribs to SGR...

  • Another Chang fantasy then...

  • Of course, vet-ski.  Chang says he's a vet.  Probably other ids like Chris .....

The Chris persona was quite creative though!

  • You don't have to be good at cryptic crosswords to figure that one out.

  • Since I don't live on Lorne Road, I'm not Chang...and 'vet' is a reference to my name, not my job!

  • I can vouch for vetski, she is a real, and splendid, person!

  • sorry, vetski seemed like some chang pseudonym.

  • Thanks miss annie, I was beginning to have an identity crisis!

  • first time I've heard the name vetski. I've heard of svetski.  anyway, I hope you find what you're looking for.

  • The restaurant is very good. They have Monday £20 menu of tapas and wine which is tasty and good value. Nice Spanish staff too ( including the Rhianna fan!). The Sheldon Hotel opp has seen better days and at Xmas I was there professionally to dealwith dog problems, but there is a late bar which is a great place for a night cap and gossip before going home. Chang

  • Chang, does your father in law still reckons its closed but that its moving to SGR?

  • Well it's still open by the looks of it. Maybe a jan hholiday like the tollingtons chip shop ?It would be good to have a tapas place in Sgr and I hope it happens. Chang
