Frozen Planet - Mark Brandon talk, Tue May 8th

<p>Dear SG.orgers, your friendly local WI has arranged for Mark Brandon, polar oceanographer and senior scientific adviser to Frozen Planet (and Haringey resident), to come and give a talk on Tuesday 8th May - we're ever so excited! And we would like to offer some tickets to our friends and supporters here.</p> <p>Venue: The Hideaway, Ennis Road N4. Doors open 7.15pm for tea & cake; the talk begins at 7.45pm.</p> <p>Tickets are £5pp (£3pp for under-16s) - if you would like to come, please e-mail <a href="mailto:stroudgreenwi@yahoo.co.uk">stroudgreenwi@yahoo.co.uk</a> and tell us how many tickets you would like. First come, first served!</p> <p> </p>

  • <p>Last day to take up the offer SG'ers, the event will be advertised on twitter and haringeyonline from tomorrow. I'm most excited about hearing all the inside info on what it's like to spend weeks with David Attenborough and how it feels to be stared at by a Killer Whale.. </p><p>Oh by the way, free tea and coffee will be served on the night, donations accepted for the truly impressive cakes!</p>

  • <p>Our event with the lovely Mark Brandon was a huge success with an audience of about sixty adults and children.Thank you to everyone that came along and sorry if you came and we didn't get a chance to meet you - it was a busy evening. </p><p>Thanks also to everyone who generously donated money for our homebaked cakes and biscuits.</p>
