Massage parlour on SGR
  • Noticed today that the old King's bakery was being done up...the guys working in there said it's going to be a Thai massage parlour.

  • I hope they keep the lovely 50s display window (vitrine?) at front.

  • Oh for goodness' sake. Are you sure? Islington have banned any new sex businesses but I suppose that's Haringey. Can someone unearth the planning application?

  • @Mirandola, am only sure of what they told me. There is, I suppose, a possibility they were taking the mickey; there is also the possibility that it will be a genuine massage business rather than a knocking shop. Breath NOT being held!

  • What number is it?

  • Odd. Haringey has a clear policy of not allowing any new sex businesses to open. http://www.haringey.gov.uk/draft_sex_establishment_licensing_policy.pdf

  • Planning permission is definitely for a legit therapy/sauna place rather than for a brothel madquerading as one. If it turns out to be the latter what do we do to get it closed?

  • Make a fuss? Mind you, the express lunch at the apparently-related restaurant in Fortis Green looks like a bargain!

  • You know, I think it is legit. In which case, good luck to them.

  • Might try it out if they do some opening discounts...

  • Seriously, what's so wrong with a knocking shop? Next to Nandos it could be convenient for many and do a promo with Beyond Glam across the road help bring that part up to scratch. Better than on the streets and the vibes from that old bakery will be cool - sausage rolls, fondest fancies etc. Chang

  • I hope they keep the lovely 50s display window (vitrine?) at front.

  • We've already got the proper massage place on FPR, would be nice if it is the other type. I don't think there's anything wrong with paying for a sexy massage, just hope it won't be all neon signs like the ones on Seven Sisters. I haven't heard any problems arising from the gay sauna behind The Dairy, or the S&M dungeon we have in the area.

  • They could probably give advice on the soundproofing thread.

  • First the gay sauna - seems to be doing well if the lack of voices raised against is any measure - and now an s&m dungeon?

    Ah, SG!

  • Nothing wrong with the sex industry as long as people aren't exploited.  I lived in Germany where it's legal and there are no pimps (from what I've heard).  Sex workers are self-employed and pay tax.    People on here joked about turning Chapter One into a gay cinema/sauna a year or so ago.  No problem.  I'd prefer that than loads of pissed up idiotic people shouting their heads off.

  • The S&M dungeon has been here for a long time, much longer than the gay sauna.

  • Without giving the exact address where aprox is the dungeon?  And I'm not public schoolboy enough to be into it.  Just curious about what's on SGR?

  • It's not on SGR.

  • Go on, @missannie, you know you want to tell us!

  • Maybe on  Moray road  I thought I heard the strike of the cat on passing.

  • We can't tell you where it is, or we'd have to kill you.

  • @Misscara: "We can't tell you where it is, or we'd have to kill you".

So, Mistress Cara, it is possibly an s&m dungeon with a speciality 'snuff' service ... Dignitas-lite on the doorstep? ... or (since s&m) possibly more likely called Indignitas!

    Curiouser and curiouser ...

  • About time that place was put to use tbf

  • The s&m dungeon is really rather respectable, I'll have you know!
