Live music at Sugar Lounge

edited November 2012 in Local discussion
Hello everyone,

As you might have noticed from the sign in our window, we've started trialling having live music several evenings a week, and we'd like to invite you to come listen to them if you have the chance.

On Wednesdays, Eric Ranzoni - "blues music's fourth most famous Eric" will be playing blues piano; his website is http://www.ericranzoni.co.uk/

On Saturdays, cabaret and burlesque singer Jessie Pie will be performing; you can read more about her on http://uk.myspace.com/jessiepi

For this Sunday only, the amazing Colin Devaney will be performing, a great way to end the week. You can listen to some of his songs here: http://breakingtunes.com/colindevaney

We're also trying to persuade a harper to join us, but that could take a little while.

We'll be experimenting with other ways of diversifying what we offer, so it'd be nice to see you here.

And you can always keep up to date with what we're doing on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/SugarLoungeN4), as we don't want to spam this forum!

Well, Eric Ranzoni may not be in the Jools Holland class or the best Boogie Woogie pianist ever (in fact, I didn't hear him do Boogie Woogie at all), but he can hammer out 'Blue Suede Shoes' all right. I'd recommend it if you're lonely and sick at heart and need a few drinks while your brain gets a dry clean. I was there on Wednesday minding my own business and peed myself laughing, especially at his outrageously dressed sottish accordion player sidekick, Gaspardi. More!
