I would like to upload a photo, but it isn't working - anyone know why?<br><br>I have a URL, why won't the picture come up?<br><br><img src="http://www.flickr.com/photos/59466728@N00/10625967384/sizes/z/"><br><br>http://www.flickr.com/photos/59466728@N00/10625967384/<br><br>https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/115264533184943415908/albums/5941657126204122433/5941657134513698770?authkey=CIH_8rDSqdS24AE&pid=5941657134513698770&oid=115264533184943415908<br><br>I seem to have accounts with Flickr, Picasa, Google, Google+, and every other f*****g thing, but NONE of them seems to be any good - how do other people do it please?<br><br>Right, this is what I have done. 1.  Taken a picture on my camera.   2.  Moved it to my laptop.    3   Uploaded it to Flickr, Google+ and all that s**t.     4.  Gone to the web and admired my lovely picture  on Flickr, Google+ etc.  5.   Rooted around in the Flickr Google+ etc page and eventually found a share thing which says something like 'many ways to share'   6.  Copied the url for my picture (the bit that starts http://.....and ends .jpg - right?    7.   Opened a discussion here.    8.  Clicked on the little add image box.    9.   Pasted in the URL I have so painstakingly copied      10.   Clicked save.  11. Looked at the post and there is no image, it just says something like >>>>image.image.image    12.   Beaten head repeatedly against table top.   13.  Repeat process with another site.   14.  Ad infinitum.<br><br>WHERE HAVE I GONE WRONG?<br><img src="http://www.flickr.com/photos/59466728@N00/10625967384/"><img src="<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/59466728@N00/10625967384/"; title="Ten trees panorama with nos by MIKE FROM LONDON, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3820/10625967384_a542376d6c.jpg"; width="500" height="117" alt="Ten trees panorama with nos"></a>"><img src="http://www.flickr.com/photos/59466728@N00/10625967384/"; title="Ten trees panorama with nos by MIKE FROM LONDON, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3820/10625967384_a542376d6c.jpg"><img src="http://www.flickr.com/photos/59466728@N00/10625967384/">

  • Some sites, which may include the ones you're using, either don't allow hot-linking or, require you to jump thru invisible hoops to achieve your objective. I know flickr has quite strict limitations. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inline_linking
  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • I know I am backward, but this defeats me - I could do it just a week ago, but now i can't work out how I did it.<br><br>A case of new technology baffles pissed old hack I fear.<br><br>I am glad you are as baffled as I am anyway MC<br>
  • I use instagram and hash tag it #stroudgreen then they appear at the top of the homepage.
  • You need to use a direct link, i.e. one that ends .jpg. Flickr et al make it hard for you to find this, but if you open the image and right click on it, then select properties, you can find and copy the url. Then use the image widget in sg.org to add it.
  • I've never been able to make it work either. Detritus managed it once but now we've both given up on it. There are some splendid photos of the local area on instagram.

  • Oh yes I did. I don't use Chrome, but that's what I did on Firefox. Bah!
  • All images hosted on flickr SHOULD link back to the original flickr page of the image.  There was a time when links would suddenly break.  I don't think flickr still polices transgressions in the way it once did.
  • Krappy, I'm free Wednesday after work if you want me to pop over and have a look.
  • Basically, I am almost beyond caring any more and would rather eat the genitals of a dead squirrel than spend more time on Flickr....on the other hand I do have a cunning plan involving blogger. We should perhaps share a beer anyway but will have to be Thursday? *Plots*
  • Dead squirrel balls are nice deep fried
