Just for fun, I'd like to propose a dinner/drinks at the Stapleton Tavern in July to mark the 243rd anniversary of the Ancient Order of Stroud Green - the obvious date would be July 23rd, as that's the date engraved on the back of the 1773 Stroud Green Badge.  It could be sooner although I'm away for a bit.   July 23rd is a Saturday.  Anyone interested?<div><br></div><div>What I really have in mind is a small get together of a few like-minded people, maybe half a dozen, interested in local affairs/history, and the story of the Badge, over a burger.......it could equally easily morph into a Stroud Green Org social as the day wears on.  I haven't told the pub yet and wasn't thinking anything more dramatic than booking a table for eight, no fancy dress or speeches as there were last time.</div><div><br></div><div>Like it on Facebook:  <a href="https://www.facebook.com/corporationofstroudgreen/">https://www.facebook.com/corporationofstroudgreen/</a></div><div><br></div><div>Any takers for that date?   Krappy </div>
  • <p>Yes, I'm in.</p>
  • Well done Miss Annie.  Right.  With previous responders, that's table for four and counting........

Yesssssssss All comers welcome. Pay as you go. I think we're up to about six, but plenty of time. I'm away but will get round to some fun stuff before then.
  • The proposed July 23rd 'Mayor and Corporation Dinner' is postponed because nobody is able to come in the holiday season. It was a daft idea anyway and nothing's been prepared. I can't be arsed really. I will, however, personally make it my business to be in the Stapleton that night should anyone from SG Org who happens to be around wish to share a convivial drink.

A better date can be arranged, possibly in the autumn, if anyone is actually interested (there have been quite a few takers, but not in July). If so I will probably just call it 'drinks', as 'relaunch dinner' sounds ridiculously formal and intimidating (and expensive). Perhaps it could simply double as a SG. Org social?

Also, I quite like the idea of kicking off a specific purpose to such an event: for example, I'd be interested in making and designing a modern 'Stroud Green Map' (see SG.Org thread passim). A SG brains trust - "Let's Put SG on the Map!" Anyone up for that?
