Sunday 15th, 10-4, SG school, bring a friend and leave with three
Hi everyone,
Our great and glorious Christmas Fair is almost here! The playground of Stroud Green School will be full to bursting, with our wonderful producers joined by a wide variety of local craft, charity stalls and guest street foodies to keep us going not only all afternoon, but right into the middle of next year. Pressies and produce: it’s a winning combo.
There will obviously be carol music, but look out also for the incredible Ukulele Ska Collective, that great foot-stomping North London bastion of kooky punk-pop culture. Their set starts around 2pm so make sure you've done your shopping by then so that you can put your heavy bags down and have a jive. Other live music is happening earlier in the day, and wreath-making workshops and other entertainments are also in the offing.
The regular market is here again on the 22nd, so now is a good time to place christmas orders. A few of the producers offer this, in particular the butcher and the pie man. Possibly the fish stall too although Wendi may just tell you to get here early! (The smoked salmon, either hot or cold smoked, is absolutely to die for).
It's a longer market than usual, lasting until 4pm. To get here on foot you can either come from stroud green road, finsbury park (oxford road exit) parkland walk (all the way to the park entrance, turn right and follow signs). The postcode to aim for is N43HB: it's in Stroud Green School opposite the faltering fullback pub).
For the full list of all 45 stalls have a look at the website (www.stroudgreenmarket.com/thisweek).
See you all there, i can't wait!
Ed
