Anyone know a good local source of not particularly strong green stuff or hash? No skunk as it messes with my programming. I would ask the kids who loiter on albert road but they scare me.
Saw a guy once selling standing in the doorway of Tesco’s at about 8.30 in the morning. He had a great big bag of the stuff which he was flogging to sad lady although I guess it might have been a great big bag of tobacco but I don’t think so.
She was probably even more sad to find it was Oregano, although I'm sure you can get a decent price for that in Papagonne... Maybe there is a huge Oregano and Rosemary trade between Tescos-Sad Lady-Papagonne. I'm going to have to keep my eyes open...
actually i am the po po. i can steal you all the guns and drugs you want. To contact me ask the old lady in the doorway of tesco, she will give you a password and a phone number to call.
I'm sure they did that about 4 years ago too - I remember it being in the news and police being everywhere around Fonthill Road giving out flyers about the raid when I walked to work in the morning.
Thanks Ian, getting it from a friend at work now. Should have it by the weekend.
I don't think Library would let me reserve as it's so popular. I may be wrong but they didn't even have it on the shelf, it was behind the desk..
just watched the final episode of wire season 4. I love the Wire!!!
Question for the crowd though, do we have pockets of awfulness comparable to those of east and west Baltimore (wire seasons 1-4, not trying to ruin anything for anyone)? Am I just deeply middle class and sheltered?
If the representation of inner city life in Baltimore is true; their schooling, policing and politics seem to be so much worse and more corrupt than anything I can even imagine in this country!
Is this a true perspective or just naive and somewhat jingoistic? It fills me with horror that something like these events could be happening in the UK and I'm unaware of them and our press is failing to report on them.
Great programme though, if not bloody depressing!
Lucy - i'm only halfway through seires one but would imagine that drug use and violence on that scale happens all the time in the rougher areas of the UK's larger cities.. I've never really seen it first hand myself, quite happy to be aware but sheltered..

*Doorbell*
Wait, just got to answer the door.
*muffled sirens and handcuff noises*
I once worked on a website where a couple of guys tried to do a coke deal. Right down to swapping numbers. Marvelously naive.
