For anyone who has had that power cut around the north east end of Florence Road, apparently a substation fuse blew, team is there now and they estimate it'll be back up before midday.
I was hoping it was substation vandalism so I could bad-mouth the children of the area in that apparently most modern of British ways. A bit random, but did anyone see that hilarious moment on the class system where Two-Jags said to two teenagers _"Why are you wearing hoods? Is that part of your gang uniform?"_ and one of the kids looked at him like he was really dim and said _"Eh? Nah, its raining init."_ Brilliant.
No phone? Mobile or landline? The landline should work off their system's power so it shouldn't be affected by a power cut.
I like this thread if only for the better quality of ad - have we all got the Seafight pirate?
I like the idea of buying google ads to attract somali pirates. After all, they are flush with cash and there aren't many shops in Eyl. They probably do most of their shopping online.
_One of the pirates, calling himself Daybad, told the BBC by telephone ... they were negotiating a ransom of "the usual asking price"_

I've an image of Daybad on the phone whilst thumbing through a Glass's guide to second hand supertankers.
Yep. Even by our slapdash moderation standards, this thread is about everything and nothing. Pirates, powercuts, the film *Under Siege*, google ads, hoodies, failed states and John Prescott.
Sam, the reason you might not be getting the gist of the discussion is because there isn't one.
Don't try and bend the spoon.....

EDF are totally rubbish. This is about the 8th time it has happened in a year. I never had power cuts before I moved here.
They did say we could book into a hotel because of the baby, but we just went to bed at 9.00pm together dressed in out woolies!
One side of the road didnt have a cut so we could see them with the lights on watching tv and cooking - was quite funny!
