The White Lion has it (if you want to risk getting your laptop nicked), and my kitchen has 50mbps courtesy of some kind neighbour on Upper Tollington Park.
Another non-Stroud Green free wireless spot is the Southbank Centre. Big open space, quiet in the day, bar on tap and free wifi throughout. Quite a few other bods working there.
The whole of Paris now has free wifi so I heard, along with their free bikes on every corner, Stroud Green's got some work to do if we want to live up to our Parisian reputation.
So, for the past few weeks, mainly in order to get out of my freezing flat, I have been using the free wifi at the Old Dairy, the Larrik, the World's End and the Dream River cafe. Ariana's used to have wifi but when I went in to ask a month or so ago, they didn't seem to know what I was talking about. Anybody know anywhere else round here that has it?
Dream River has been for sale pretty much as long as it has been open.
Maybe some of our members could buy it and create this perfect cafe with wonderful food, low prices, soho atmosphere and great service since it's obviously a doddle to do it.
I'm not a fan of the Front Room, but I think I'll give it another go if they have wifi. I really like Dream River, especially the people who run it. I agree they don't have many good cakes, but their croissants are ace. Save Dream River!
The White Lion of Mortimer has free Wifi - and fish and chips for 3 quid! When my broadband was down one day, I worked from the White Lion - and it was lovely! Lots of gentle drunks quietly doing the crossword. It was much easier to concentrate there than in Dream River whose daytime clientele seemed comprised almost entirely of children under 3.
Any iPhone/iPod touch owners can look up wifi locations according to their current location using a free app called "Wi Fi Finder". There are too many in the area for me to relist here.
However you can use a web interface to view the list: [http://www.jiwire.com](http://www.jiwire.com/)
When I put in my N4 postcode, it told me my closest free wi-fi could be found in the Royal Oak pub. In Penge. The Stroud Green wi-fi blackspot is obviously bigger than we thought.

Front Room Cafe said they were going to do it, but couldn't say when.
Did we ever find out who wrote <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stroud_Green_Road">that article?</a>
I'm connected now from my Mac via by N73 phone.
The Front Room now has wi-fi.
