Not sure how that works, so will check it out.
People who twitter could also drop their username in this thread. I know there are a bunch.

And I'm @firetail
Though I'm beginning to hate Twitter. I am perfectly capable of wasting my time without anyone else's help.
Just looked at my Twitter account. All rubbish. Messages from people I don't want to follow and I CAN'T TURN THEM OFF. They won't remove. Worse than spam. Who needs it, man?
Twitter is useless. I just had to delete my account and start a new one because it was stuffed with people I didn't want to follow, that I couldn't delete and couldn't block. There is no easy help forum. And I haven't even tweeted. I need it for work though - apparently. Lets see what happens now. Any wise suggestions from the initiated?
@krs - it's sort of circular because it doesn't make any sense until you're fully plugged into it (with followers and following) but it doesn't seem worth the effort if you aren't. So it requires a leap of faith.
What I'd do is download a twitter client (tweetdeck or twirhl) follow a bunch of people that seem interesting and just start taking part.
Try a few of the MPs (like @tom_watson and @lynnefeatherstone) a few journos (@charles_arthur,) others like @cshirky, @demsoc, @sarahbrown10, @stroudgreen. Use search (http://search.twitter.com) to find a few others and see how you go.
Hah! This is, lookintg up. Mastering Twitter will require some serious work time. Apparently my office (an NGO) have been considering Twitter for PR for some time but nobody here knows how to use it. So I don't feel that boneheaded after all. I will now launch myself into corporate Twitterdom from my office screen (and thus waste office time officially at office expense).
I'm a non-twitterer, but seriously are companies and NGOs using their time and money wisely getting into this? Didn't everyone say that Second Life was going to be a massive marketing opportunity? At risk of being the next curmudgeon, I suspect that senior executives are too keen to jump on the bandwagon of whatever they hear their kids talking about.
Mind you, twittering hardly constitutes much time and money does it? It's free and as quick as an SMS message, certainly takes no more than say a fag/coffee break to administer and follow. There's no spend or time involved.

Do I have to use a mobile phone to twitter or can I do it on a computer?
Would it mean my phone was bleeping me with half-arsed useless messages all day long?
Is there anything I can do on twitter that I can't do on SG org?
