Anyone fancy a pint?

    I know a lot of people know eachother on these esteemed discussion boards, so this might seem like a silly idea...But I wondered about arranging an I *heart* stroudgreen gathering in a local hostelry so everyone else can put names to faces, so that we can ignore/nod at/abuse each other in Petek's/Woody's/Cat's in the same way we do online.

    I appreciate it's all a bit retro, this real world business, but if anyone is up for it, how about a midweek schoolnight - say 23rd Sept. And, seeing as they seem to join here a fair whack - what a about in the Old Dairy?

    Anyone up for it?

    Interesting. My recollection is that the last time someone tried this there was a heap of opprobrium poured on them for that real world lark. Perhaps we are becoming a "community".

    To revert to contrariness form ... Dairy - you will never find anyone in there, let alone know whether they are "one of us" rather than a non-SG.org punter. Noble would be better for that kind of caper.

    @poxy AAARRRGGGHHH. So much happier now that I know that the new version of Firefox I'd downloaded didn't have a spell checker. For weeks I must have been illiterate as words I typed looked OK to the computer, however stupid they looked to me. :-)

    So it looks like a few people might pop along, but @Ian quite rightly says we'll find it hard to find eachother there...

    Given that I've said the Dairy so far and it's now the day before I reckon it might be a bit late to change it.

    So why don't we aim for that smallish raised bit virtually opposite the bar - up a couple of steps I think. Almost behind where the "DJ" is on a weekend.

    Either that or I'll ask the nice people in the Dairy to cordon of a smallish space with I heart stroudgreen signs so we know where are. Or - just to be a bit geeky - maybe @stroudgreen could tweet where they are in the bar when/if they arrive. Or bring/wear some of those giant I heart N4 bags/T shirts.

    I'm still guessing there's a few other people who might fancy it who haven't said yes yet too. But even if it ends up just three of us, I'll see you there from 8. I look like this.

    A lost look usually suffices when meeting nutters off the internet, I find. I will probably be with poxy however, who is a tall bald Yorkshireman, and I am shorter and have long blonde hair.

    I never got an I *heart* N4 bag or t-shirt (boo!) but I can create one with a red whiteboard marker at work tomorrow, for that special 'AVOID ME PLEASE' outfit.
