Not necessarily all good, but some fun stuff for men/women/children can be found from <http://www.gadgetshop.com/>
I have also bought girlie knick-knacks for my nieces in EXit on SGR over the past couple of years.
Home (on SGR) and Map (on Junction Road down from the Archway) both have lovely things but can be a bit pricey.
Oh. Hazel, the woman who runs it most certainly used to live round here. If they've moved then apologies and I will change my recommendation to 'a possibly ex-local business.'
Thanks for all these suggestions.
a bit troubled by this statement:
*green rabbit is a bright collection of children's clothes in a riot of colours and proud to be supporting local UK manufacture and no carbon footprint.*
No carbon footprint? Whichever way you cut it, that's a load of old cack. *wags finger*
Unfortunately they are no longer guaranteeing delivery for christmas, so this [foetus cookie cutter](http://www.stupid.com/fun/FETS.html) may have to wait til next year.
Naming your shop "Home" does not make finding your damned website easy.
Can anyone oblige?
It's raining and I need to buy a new Vesuvius. I dropped my old one and it broke and I'm now suffering from caffeine withdrawal. I'm quite happy to schlep down to Home in the rain if I think there's a good chance of finding what I need.
How about trying Camden or Spitalfields/Brick Lane Markets or the one in Islington i think on Weds?
i got some from the art deco & collectables fair in Ally Pally last w/end. I know, late now. A good way of finding some curio etc and making the whole Xmas shopping experience an enjoyable one. just a thought.
anorak.co.uk is going to be the 'new best thing' soon I reckon - but a bit out of my price range this year... saw some of their products in the General Trading Company in Sloane Sq yesterday and they were cool. In fact that shop had a lot of stuff but it was silly prices...
On another note last night on the tube I overheard a girl sayin last year her and her sister bought their Dad a hose (although v heavy to wrap she was remarking!) and this year he's getting a mud guard! Hope you're not the 'Dad' and I've ruined the surprise...?
Found this site kind of helpful yesterday (hence a trip to Hotel Chocolate beckons)
