The Noble. Really good steak there last night, friendly people behind the bar, dog friendly and a nice crowd.

Most of whom we met when plum went walkabout.

Went for a the footy the other day at the Worlds End.
Great pub for footy and pints the right side of £3. Got a pint of Guinness and a pint of Kronnenburg for £5.50.
Now that's what a call a pub, not some bloody up the arse trying to be upmarket food counter shit hole with lots of pompous cunts reading papers listening to Sade...
Ok, maybe overreacting a bit. My no 1 around here is between the Fullback or The Swimmer.

Welcome back Peds. You've posted very rarely but there's almost always a reference to a pub or the use of the c-word. Of course most posts involve both. I took Pedro to a really nice pub that had opened up Tufnell Park way a few years back, we had to leave after the first or second pint and go to the Boston instead because _"it was too nice."_ The Swimmer would be my favourite easily, but its not Stroud Green.

The Swimmer gets my vote, or the Fullback or Harringey Arms if you really need to stay local.

    Roll on the smoking ban!

Ah, the swimmer - as matt will know, a former firm favourite, especially for the quiz on a monday, but it got a write-up in Time Out a while back and now you can't move in there on a Monday. I'm too old to stand on a Monday. Now, does anyone know of a good pub quiz nearby?

there's one up in highgate - not that close, I know but the 210 goes right there. Can't remember what day it is - andy will know.

Maybe we should have a "stroudgreen" pub team, if we find a quiz.

I've done the Dairy one (to obtuse) and the Fullback one (music) which were OK.
  • edited 3:41AM
Does the Dairy one still exist, since the revamp? I might investigate. Stroudgreen team sounds good.

It was run by an outsider, so I'm not sure.
  • edited 3:41AM
They were in negotiation with the said outsider when I spoke to them about it.

The Prince of Wales one in Highgate is on a Tuesday night. The quiz ranges from Really Hard to Stupidly hard. The teams get huge scores too. Last week it was a music quiz. One sample question was 'Name Six (*SIX!!!*) Eagles albums. We guessed four - "The Eagles" was right and "Hotel California" was also right. However, "Hey Hey! It's the Eagles" and "Oh No! More Eagles" were not right, apparently. Normally it's more fun than that. The Prince of Wales is also tiny.

Music quiz not my strong point, definitely. Dan (significan other) claims to have won the Prince of Wales quiz. He might be fibbing though. He never went back, which makes me suspicious.
