Sorry to backtrack a week back to the gents toilet in the White Lion, but the tasteless goals have made a reappearance. (possibly to piss on the world cup, I'm not sure).
The snow has never really been that convincing on the main roads this time out - too much pre-gritting? - but in the park and along the Parkland Walk, it's looking perfectly festive. Although it's useless as construction snow, which presumably explains the lack even of collapsed or kicked-in snowmen.
Stroud Green is so pretty and still as I write this at nearly 5am in the morning. I was supposed to be staying with friends tonight who live in the depths of Kent but had to return due to a connecting regional train line not running (luckily got a refund). After witnessing some of the locals in a small outlying station there this afternoon it was a relief to come back to Stroud Green. It seems so civilized compared to there.
I urge everyone to have a stroll through the park today, it is totally transformed by the snow - just beautiful.
Four Eyes, you should post some of your lovely pictures of the boating lake.
There are excellent tobogganing opportunities in Hampstead and Primrose Hill, and for those who fancy a bit of extreme sports, a pal even managed to snowboard over there yesterday!
I like finding the side-streets and bits of other roads which aren't cleared - until yesterday's rain, at least, they still looked magical and festive, not grotty and slushy.

Bring on proper snow!
