  Curious. Has anyone been to 'Music Palace'? Is it new, I don't recall seeing it..?

  It's been there for a while, it used to be a rowdy club with pool tables before it turned into Music Palace. Haven't been there for about three years but it was ok then.

  Apparently the decision to grant a licence in the old Chapter One bar to Gents Club 'Slappers' has gone to appeal. I don't think it's an appropriate use of SG road and I hope others will lobby their Cllrs or write to Islington Council.
  
  However, the music club in the old snooker club in CE is exactly the sort of thing we need in SG. Why can't Chapter One be used for this sort of more wholesome entertainment?

  Having looked back through licensing committee meetings here ( <http://www.islington.gov.uk/democracy/meetings/meetinglist2daystart.asp?intSubSectionID=109&intSectionID=2&meetingtype=licensing committee&gt; ) I can see no recent application from Chapter One for anything. Care to share where + how you claim to know this?

  Steve Grant told me on tuesday in the Park Tavern. He heard it from Jacky at the Council.
  
  I have searched to find who has bought Chapter One but can't find anything - maybe the original promoters still have an interest?

  @Andy, you are falling into the trap of engaging with the facts in TT's postings. Is there a separate discussion tag, like Eugene's Lair, that we could set up just for TT to post his surreal fantasies whilst we get on with the usual humdrum discussions?

  Count day to Sunday begins, first rehearsal was great ....heard that this place was cool years ago, well I still think its a great venue and with great music and great people what more can we ask for?
