  Ah yes, goslings, that's what I meant - der!! Are the two that survived last year the ones that are there now?

  Magpies and crows will both take chicks and I'll be amazed if there aren't pike in the lake - they often take ducklings and other small aquatic birds.

  A couple of years back I pointed out some teensy baby frogs to children, who were otherwise at risk of stepping on them. Instead the now-fascinated children picked the frogs up for inspection, thus killing them anyway. There's a moral there somewhere.

  Apparently next week there will be 50% less park staff in Finsbury Park because of the cuts. Will be interesting to see how long it is until it starts to go backwards and all that money spent to improve it doesn’t have the budget to maintain standards.
