It's Beth from the Stapleton Tavern. We're thinking it would be good to get some old photos of Stroud Green from way back up in the pub. Anyone got any ideas of where we could get them from?
The Shaftesbury has some great ones - perhaps you could ask them where they got them from. I was wondering it myself when looking at them last weekend.
There used to be a very good picture of the Victorian Stapleton taken from where the Docs Surgery is across the diagonal. It used to hang in the Dairy near to the doors that lead to the upstairs in the ante room with the big fireplace. I have always thought it was a great picture which blown up would be amazing. Problem is the last time I looked it was not hanging where it was so may be somewhere else on the walls.
These might help

Upnorth where I'm originally from the local newspapers keep really long archives (they even have about 4 pages on a Saturday dedicated to a section called 'all our memories,' it's full Last of the Summer Wine territory and makes me feel slightly nauseous) but anyway the point is I would try the Islington Tribune and Gazette and whatever the Haringey equivalents are...
