The Park Theatre website is impressive.

I always associate John Jones with Jesus Jones for some strange reason, but is he an international bright young thing?

I’m not one for the honours system (Member of the British Empire? Really?) but pleased to see the recognition in this case.

I’ve been following the Park Website blog every day for months, they seem like a really nice and passionate bunch of people and I wish them all the best. Can’t wait for the theatre and café bar to open. And with Roger Lloyd Pack as an ambassador can they really go wrong?
I can't wait for the Park theatre to open, it's starting to look really exciting now. Should we have a whip-round and donate a SG.org seat? Not cheap - the cheapest are £450 - but if there's enough of us, it could work and we should be supporting this theatre I think.
I'd put in a tenner. If we're serious should we organise it via something like Just Giving? Since Park Theatre are a registered charity, they'd get Gift Aid...
Maybe we can arrange to set up an SG,org tin securely at the theatre, then people can drop by and dump in their tenners as they walk to the tube. If that would be convenient to the theatre people, that is?
Great idea. I'll join in.
The simplest way would be to donate at the link below which allows any amount, and gets Gift Aid. Then on the next page you have to give your details including organisation - which should be Stroudgreen.org. That way they can keep track of our donations and tell us how close we are to the 450 or 750 total. They seem like a friendly bunch from the blog, so I'm sure they'll be delighted to help, especially when they see the unexpected donations coming in!
I've emailed to let them know what we want to do, but the donations themselves will be the proof that we're serious.

Thanks for the lovely messages for John. He is so humbled by the recognition - as a young dyslexic kid from the East End of London, he would never have dreamt in a million years that he would one day receive an MBE! He still can't quite believe it.... off to the palace on 22 February, very exciting!
Have a lovely time, it will be a very special day, but do take a hip flask - I've attended two investitures and you don't even get a cup of coffee. Don't know about the gong recipients though.
Hi Jez,

Thanks for your message. Just made a donation and e-mailed you as requested. Quit exciting to think there'll be an sg.org seat!

Can you post regular updates here so we know how close we are to our target for a seat?

Just received an update from Annabel at park Theatre. Apparantely donation for the Stroudgreen, org seat are up to £85, so we're getting there! only another £365 or so to go :-)

:-) Just follow the instructions in the post from The Park Theatre (above) and e-mail them once you've paid so they know the payment counts towards the seat.

I should say I'm not associated with them, I just got really excited about SG.org clubbing together for a seat.
