The new concourse opened today. Amazing. Beautiful. Benito's Hat burritos were half price. 6 pints at the new Parcel Yard pub, which has defeated the Betjeman's in St Pancras as my new favourite station pub.<br>

I took a train to Cambridge from platform zero the other week. That was pretty exciting. I'll definitely get off the tube early at Kings Cross this week and walk the rest of the way to work so that I can to have a look at the new concourse. I'll be really interested to see how the new front looks when the horrible part gets ripped off.

There was lots of ooohhh's and aaahhhhh's as I walked through it this morning (not just by me may I add). Very exciting indeed esp. because there is a Leon.

Not so impressed with what they've done on platform 9 3/4. The entrance is even harder to locate! And once you're there the little sweet shop selling everlasting gobstoppers has gone.<br>

I miss the old St. Pancras station. Darker, victorian but not so pret-a-manger chain store.

Yeah, for me they really messed up by installing the mezzanine. Space and height is one of its defining virtues, so don't lessen that!

I like the external renovation, and they fixed the roof nicely. But I think I agree about the mezzanine. And the extension to the rear isn't very successful in my opinion, especially when compared to the amazing UFO-crash that is the new KX concourse.
