When is a PM not a PM?

A general question about profiles & pms. Under my profile, anyone can see a pm I was sent by The Bull in Highgate on March 14 this year; but can someone (@andy?) explain why? Most pms sent to me go into my Inbox, so I don't understand why this one didn't!

They wrote on the forum equivalent to your 'wall' instead of sending a PM. Messages sent through inbox stay private.

Miss Annie is right. People can write on your profile, like facebook. PMs don't appear anywhere.<div>I'm not sure why you would, though.</div>

Oh well I thought this was about something else and I would get chance to say that DC is not a very good one !
