  • Done. Put 29th as a no, but can do it if that's the day. Don't know how to go back and edit the Doodle poll.

  • You just click the pencil icon next to a name to edit.  I've edited it for you to a yellow (Yes) - which means not your prefered day but you can make it if necessary.

  • Okay, so with 13 people, the 29th looks like a winner. Should we start deciding on when and where? Maybe around 6.30pm? Any preferences?

  • Ok I've spoken to The Blackstock and they're hosting. So 6.30 pm on 29th?

Bare-knuckle fighting doesn't start til 8.30 so that'll give everyone plenty time to get there and have some Dutch courage before getting in the ring.

  • Are you drunk Misscara?

  • No. Wish I was. Saving myself for 29th.

  • Will try to make it. Good idea to do this.

  • It'd be great if this could be added to the events list so that people don't forget - hmm.

  • Not really at the Blackstock, so if anyone else wants to organise go ahead and sort it please :)

  • @Misscara: I was just remembering your review of local pubs, which I referred to regularly when I first moved here.  IIRC your review of the Blackstock was "Just don't" :-)

  • The Blackstock does have a rare working example of a Victorian heated footrail.

    Er... Stapleton?

  • I second the Stapleton.

  • Fourth

  • Sounds good.  What time?

And how will we all recognise each other?  (I'll be the one wearing black :-)

    roy

  • Drat, I'll be wearing all black too :o)

We could get some printer labels and write our names on them?

  • My hair is black too.

  • Besides, I didn't so much mean how will we know who's who - I'm perfectly capable of asking people their names - I more meant, how are we all to recognise the sg.org table?

  • A piece of paper with "SG.ORG" written on it in big letters? :)

Actually, should we reserve a table or several as it seems there'll be a lot of us?

  • @harpistic: potentially eleven of us, according to Doodle, although I don't know whether to expect the reality to be more or less than that.

  • Most of you know me already but I'll be the 6ft blonde in dress and heels. Usually in black but I might just surprise you all.

Don't like the idea of labels, can't we just ask each other? Plus it's always fun when you discover that someone's perception of you was completely off. I remember talking to someone in The Stapleton once who just assumed I was Miss Annie, and asked me about me.

  • While I do like the Stapleton, will the place be rendered horrific by televised Olympics? If a table can be booked away from screens, that would be preferable.

  • I've put it on the calendar for you.

  • Brilliant, thanks! Who's up for booking a table or several? I'd expect us to lose a few from those who have confirmed, and gain a few others - approx 10 to 15?

  • As usual, I'm late to the party. I might potentially join. ;-)

If you have me, that is. As I've borrowed Misscara's spare bike not too long ago, I promised her a drink anyway. :-)

  • Don't worry about tables, I prefer vertical drinking.

See you at 18:00ish on Sunday.

  • I don't like vertical drinking. And it's a social, after all.

Has anyone booked tables for us yet or can we have a volunteer to do it before then?

  • What's antisocial about standing?  It's easier to mingle.

  • Not bothered about booking tables either, much prefer to do it standing up. We can always bag a table for those who want to sit. I'm working in town tomorrow but should be up by 7ish. See you all there!

  • I'm not sure how I'm going to identify a group of sg'ers - I'm guessing we're probably not particularly distinctive as a group...  But if you see a goth looking lost, do say hello to me.  I may well be recognizable by my distinctive footwear.
