Anyone know what is happeneing at the station this morning? I arrived at the Wells Terrace entrance only to find the barriers closed, an alarm going and a fire engine attending.

Going round to Station Place, there were many more emergency vehicles (all three emergency services were attending) including a huge 'Police Emergency Response Unit' (never seen one like it before - it was about the size of a fire engine) and an unmarked estate car with a blue flashing light (what would that have been?)

Obviously some kind of major incident - but strangely enough the National Rail part of the station was still open and operating normally.

roy

I would imagine that any emergency on the tube triggers a standard
emergency services response until the details are actually confirmed, so that
there’s no risk of not being able to deal with whatever’s going on if the
details are sketchy. Driver pressing an emergency button on the tube
automatically triggers X-number of emergency response vehicles is probably some
sort of protocol.

My information is only based on announcements on the tube
this morning, so not necessarily accurate, I guess.

I arrived at the station just before 9am and it was as I describe. I guess ActionVerb may be right - if the incident on the Victoria line was actually at Finsbury Park station maybe that is the explanation.
