furniture repairers/ restorers?

Anyone recommendations for people who can mend old furniture? I have a lot of stuff that is semi-antique but not antique enough to be worth spending the hundreds of pounds it seems to cost if you ask in antique shops ... on the other hand needs a bit more expertise than I can provide. If you know of anyone who does this kind of thing at a reasonable price I'd be glad to hear of them.<div><br></div><div>thanks! </div>

Try Michael Slade on Quernmore Road - <a href="http://www.michaelsladefurniture.co.uk/">http://www.michaelsladefurniture.co.uk/</a>. Mostly he does fitted furniture, but he is a trained cabinet maker and has repaired various bits of antique furniture for us. Not super cheap, but reasonable - wouldn't trust a restorer who was super cheap to do a decent job, given the skill and detail required!

No, very true! But there are some staggeringly expensive restorers out there, too ... Many thanks for recommendation, I'll give him a try.<div><br></div><div><br></div>
