floods and rats (problem)

Sad to say the floods round Lorne Road have brought Chetski's mates out and we have had to take in the bins cos of rats running everwhere.  Some are really quite big. presumably these come up from the drains tho I can't see how they get thru them grates. landlady put loads of domestos down and that seems to have cleared them off (and cleaned the pavement) but that smell is back. the rain is set to go on all week so i cant see what to do bout it. will ring the council on monday. any other ideas? chang
