Indeed, a fairly damning condemnation of current local leadership in education: http://haringeylibdems.mycouncillor.org.uk/2013/02/14/independent-education-commission-haringey-council-must-improve-schools-urgently/

I heard an interesting story the other day. Lynne Featherstone once visited a Haringey school, and noticed that the teacher was making numerous spelling mistakes on the board. She raised her concerns with the head teacher. Shortly after she received a berating from the local Labour party for 'not supporting teachers'. Apparently giving kids a decent 'education education education' is not the priority, but protecting crap teachers is.
Yes indeed. It has always (in the years my son has been there) felt like a good school and good to see Ofsted catching up with reality, and excellent results.

Worth noting the fulsome praise the report gives to Haringey for all the support they have given the school, too!
