Really very good. Had outstanding beetroot ravioli in a walnut sauce there a couple of weeks back. Service very friendly too. Not mega-cheap but you do get what you pay for in this instance.
I am a big fan, we go there reasonably often, both in the daytime and the evening - it's become one of my favourite Stroud Green spots.

The owner is a really nice guy, very friendly and great with our daughter.

It's a good spot for breakfast, either English or Italian, and nice for dinner, good pizza and the other food is nice too. Has a nice ambience too, feels like a proper little Italian trattoria.
Up (or down, depending on where you live), near the Noble - same side.
Might try it this week, I don't like beetroot or walnuts but I'm sure they'll have something to tickle the palate.
I had an indifferent lunch yesterday. A beetroot tagliolini with homemade pasta, served with broccoli, cream and chilli (I skipped the pancetta as I am mostly vegetarian). The beetroot was in the pasta but did nothing other than add a faint pinkishness. The pasta and the broccoli were overcooked, with absolutely no bite to them, and there were literally 3 or 4 pieces of red chilli in the dish, which was not nearly enough to add any heat. They were also too large - more chilli, more finely diced, would have been better. The flavour was pretty good, and I quite enjoyed it despite the negatives, but it could very easily have been a much, much better dish. It was also expensive for what it was.
