We wanted to do Tower Bridge but the queue is massive. Off to Freemason's Hall, Foreign Office and Battersea Power Stn. We'll see what else is open on the way. Cycled past a massive queue for the Bank of England, I'd give that a miss! There is so much it's best to choose a borough and do as much as you can there. Locally there are lots of things in Islington and Haringey, I'd recommend a five minute visit to W. Plumb, top end of Hornsey Rd.
Just been to W Plumb and well worth popping in. The chap who owns it - and has been carefully looking after it - was there and is happy to answer questions and chat about it.
We did Freemasons Hall (fascinating), the Treasury (dull), and The FCO (fabulous). Going to try Battersea tomorrow. Really interesting to talk to the Masons.
We also had a free tour of St Katherine's Docks last weekend as part of Thames Festival and went on the Gloriana barge, the Havengore and Dunkirk little ships and on Thursday had a private view of Pompeii at The British Museum (thanks Vetski and Mr Vetski). A brilliant London week!
I live under a rock and don't even know what this is all about. Guess I need to ask my friend Google. :-)

Thank you, Annie, though, for letting me know it's on all weekend. I love discovering new things.
Stella, while you are online sign up to the Londonist and IanVisits mailing lists. You'll get a weekly newsletter with the most interesting, newsworthy and sometimes very odd stuff that's happening each week. No need to miss out.
Thanks for the recommendations. Enjoyed the butchers alot. The American guy who owns it is a nice chap. I particularly enjoyed the community garden just off Hanley Road.
Went to Battersea Power Station today, 2 things I noticed.
1. Brits will que for anything.
2. It used a hell of a lot of bricks.
Not a lot of use really.
