Thanks, Vetski. I read this fascinating book some years ago, but am ashamed to say I didn't notice the lack of female sources, concerns, evidence at the time. The Bunk, or Campbell Rd, was located sort-of north/south along the eastern edge of the Six Acres Estate, but there was hardly any trace of it when I last looked. The author, Jerry White, was Islington's chief librarian, I think.
I used to have a map overlaying the old streets on the modern map of the modern Six Acre estate. If memory serves Whadcoat is the surviving stub of the Campbell 'Bunk'.
I wish I could go back too. Just for a day. They'd think we were a bit weird though! Anyone know which direction the Ferme park road one is looking? Up the hill from the londis end?
Edit: actually I think it's looking down the hill towards ali pali from the top, mount view road way...
That idea of going back just for the day to wander round is a great one, I'd love to take a stroll around Victorian Stroud Green.

Thanks for those Gardener Joe they are great.
@Marquis, it's from slightly further down Stapleton Hall Road than the Old Dairy crossroads / Fiveways but is that view. That is the Parkland Walk bridge you can see when it was Stroud Green Station.

That stretch of Stapleton Hall Road looks nicer with those trees.
The name of the large store on the corner of Stroud green road & Hanley road was called Hall & Co it was a drapery & haberdashery store I remember the money being move about overhead on a wire shuttle system.
The view of ferme park road is looking northwards downhill towards Alexander Palace
The view of Stapleton Hall road was taken next to the church on the corner of Victoria road
Hope this helps. Kind regards Neil
