If I had that amount of money, I'd go and get a factory or warehouse and convert that. The (rather ugly) exterior really doesn't give any clue of what's behind it. Somehow it doesn't really go with the interior, I find.<br>
When I was going past a few months go a member of the public was commenting about something on the front being "a waste of space" to one of the builders. The builder replied, " you should see the amount of wasted space inside" so would be interesting to see. <div><br></div><div><br></div>
The first link on SHR is right next door to it as well, still dont like the location ( being so near the corner overlooking launderette) but would much rather have it as well..
@Misscara, you can often visit Highpoint during Open House weekends. Well worth a visit, if you haven't done so already. It's usually pre-book only, so you need to be online the minute those become available as they're gone in a flash.<div><br></div><div>I went past those houses being built daily until last autumn, and used to wonder what they would end up like. The exterior looks horrible (to me at least), but I like what they've done with the inside. It's a crap location though, right by the train tracks and with so much traffic going past. I would say I'm amazed at how much they're going for, but not much surprises me when it comes to London property prices anymore.</div>
@Misscara Oh, I love the Isokon. Would like to have a look inside. A friend did it by going to view a flat for sale there, but I would feel guilty about pretending to be looking to buy.<div><br></div><div>For all the modernism (and other modern architecture) lovers out there, check out http://themodernhouse.net/ if you want to drool over lovely houses/flats you'll never be able to afford. There's a 4-bed in Highpoint on the main page at the moment - as well as the Stapleton Hall Road houses. I'll have <a href="http://themodernhouse.net/sales-list/the-beach-house-hayling-island-hants/description-817/">this</a> one, thanks.</div>
