Anyone going to listen to them outside? From last year's experience I know it can be quite a nice sound. Although I suppose it's a bit tedious getting into the park.
I could hear them easily from across the covered reservoir. The sound was pretty muddy, and the tunes a bit hard to discern, but then it is the Arctic Monkeys so I imagine that was true in the park also.
So 45,000 ill-mannered tourists have had their two evenings of fun, and now we're left with a filthy, trampled, tyre-tracked mess for a park. What a shambles.

Why not hold such events in venues designed for massive crowds?

While any event in the park (e.g. circus, funfair, Kurdish new year thing) will always create noise/inconvenience/disruption for some local people, these smaller events don't cause anywhere near this level of destruction.
I notice that much of the park still smells faintly of urine. Ironic, as if nothing else I thought we could be confident that the council and the promoters were definitely taking the piss.
Why do such piss-poor lad bands get to play in Finsbury Park..Oasis, Stone Roses, Arctic Monkeys. It's like a revenge against the metropolitan elite. Next there'll be UKIP rallies. I hope not. Labour dominated council get your act together let's let's have Kate Bush or the Fleadh back in the park.
In fairness, the Wireless festival at least has a less witless and blokey line-up (though it's a scandal that Bruno Mars is listed higher than Outkast).
The fleadh isn't middle-class. I'm not sure about Kate Bush. You don't have to be middle-class to be sophisticated. I'm dead sophisticated. I prefer tennis over football. Croquet for the masses.
I went to the Arctic Monkeys gig, which was great because I like them and am also going to Outkast and went to the Stone Roses....

But, while it is nice to be able to wander to these from your house, I don't think Finsbury Park should be hosting these. It's not big enough and it is destroying large bits of the park that people use.

The state of it after the Arctic Monkeys gig is terrible - that's a major part of the park wrecked for the start of summer for local residents.
