This year for the very first time Stroud Green WI is throwing itself completely and utterly into the festive spirit by launching the WInter Fair of a lifetime.     I know that November is technically Autumn, but don't most people think of anywhere past mid November as Winter?

    Winter is December, January, February. Nothing remotely Christmassy should happen before December 1st, except if you are making a Christmas cake, record or special, in which case obviously advance labour is required, but should be kept strictly private.

    Let's not be pedants about this. It's a local event run by volunteers from the local WI, to support another local charity. Sounds great, right?<div><br></div><div>I for one will be there looking to pick up some locally made presents and other Xmas goodies.     And let's face it WInter fits our name in so nicely. An Autumn Fair in late November sounds nonsensical. Mind you, I start planning Christmas windows in March so my mental calendar is slightly different to some.

    Harrods Christmas shop opens in July. And let's be honest, it's highly unlikely that people are going to refuse to go to the fair just because November isn't officially winter.
