Stroud Green fringes- windows are white washed and doors boarded up. Does anyone know if this is for a refurb or is it closed? Be shame if the latter as this was a nice boozer.

Refurb, AFAIK. They're moving the kitchen from upstairs into the back room & creating a proper dining area. Don't know what they plan to do with the upstairs once that's happened, though.

No date given on the notices in their windows either as yet. I go past there fairly regularly, so will post when (if!) I see an opening date anywhere.

Last time I went past, there was a van outside delivering something, so it doesn't seem to have closed for good.

Possible unknown fact about The Shaftsbury was that back in the mid - late sixties The S was the only Gay friendly pub in Nth London on Fridays nights and Sunday lunch times! (Jack Straws fell under NW).
