Even though the festival isn't until 2 weeks away, large areas of the park have been closed off. Parkrun was cancelled this morning. I can't beleive it tales so long to set up
Really annoying that they locked the new gates over the railway track at 4pm today - massively inconvenient for all of us who use that entrance, and hardly any signage in the past few days to warn about it.

Got so frustrated that I signed this petition calling for Haringey Council to run a new consultation with residents and park users and re-think their events policy.
I saw a very clear sign at the Oxford Rd gate which provided all the info about the times closing times for the Gate

I guess it is done for crowd control.

I didn't think it was that noisey either and it looked like it was well organised with Council Control at the Jambore, a pyramid tent with T Urns for the police and I also saw a Wireless residential rapid response team drving about the streets on the Stroud Green side. Not sure what it was going to respond to.

We got big leaflets through the door to tell us all about the disruption a few weeks ago. We are quite far away on Moray Rd so anyone nearer would have had that too.
Didn't notice much noise where we are but not looking forward to the upcoming three days of it, there is always one really loud one.

Wireless is 19th out of 20 in the list of International Music festivals by attendance.

15,000 to 20,000 people enjoying themselves each day

I get the impression that last Sunday's event wasn't all that busy. Perhaps the rain put off those without advanced tickets?

It was odd. Is it to do with weather conditions like wind or did the promoters get told to bring down the volume yesterday? Friday was the loudest I've ever heard a festival from FP. It was really loud from 9 pm onwards and it seemed to go on way past what I thought the curfew was (10 pm). It wasn't a big deal to me but was relieved I could have my windows open and not hear it yesterday.
Yes, yesterday was much better. I would like to think they'd been told to button it. As far as I am concerned this event is musical and social barbarism - but I don't think many agree with me.
Does anyone know how much the council get for this? I've always thought it's a bad idea, to be honest. It's a park in a residential area. Just seems silly. That bloody helicopter too.
A friend of mine went yesterday and said he saw people openly doing drugs, including crack.
And people were openly urinating and other in the park too.
I just signed the petition, I hate having these 'one off' multi day festivals in the park, they are so disruptive.

Lots of used Hippy Crack containers outside the gate in SSR this morning.

Loads of Trucks in the park getting the kit out quickly onto the next place.

We hardly heard it but did hear the Police Helicopter. Reminded me of the days it used to be overhead several times a week. Mybe there is less crime around here now or the police can't afford to fly it so much.

Appparently a "mob" gate crashed it as well

i can't believe this. The noise and the travel disruption are ok, but what is the point of welcoming these people who come to destroy the park and send the wrong message? And all this violence. It's not welcome at all and hopefully the council will not make it happen next year.
So disgusting!

Went in on Sunday. Nice vibe. People chilled. It's just the enormous amount of waste and inadequate loos. Lot of peeing on grass. Generally not against it. Would just like the money raised to pay for 2 more rubbish picker uppers in the Park all year.
Hi everyone I'm new..
