If anyone has a telephone number for them I'd be most grateful - the number for the previous incarnation of the place no longer works and there were no contact details outside when I walked past this morning. Trying to contact them urgently.
Six of us went on Saturday. It was really good. Prices are on the steep side for Stroud Green, but the food is a cut above the average. The chef, who is very charming, came to speak to us after the meal - he is formerly of Osteria Tufo!<div>We had a range of starters - my fishcake was sublime. The salciccia pasta was even better. One of our party had the veal, which he also rated very highly.</div><div><br></div><div>The staff were all lovely. The décor is a bit modern for my taste, but it was very comfortable. We'd definitely go again.</div>
I'm a real sucker for an old-school trinket-and-dilapidated-art-stuffed restaurant. Clean lines and faux tiles aren't my thing, not in a Victorian property. Unless it's an old warehouse. <div><br></div><div>Basically I know what I like but I'm not good at describing it. But Season does it well. Yak & Yeti does not. Incontro is somewhere in between.</div>
We tried Incontro last night. The food was fantastic and the presentation certainly lived up to the drool-worthy photos on facebook...

Oh, did I mention all the food was HALF-PRICE? The same deal is on tonight. I felt guilty paying so little for such lovely food that I tripled my usual tip.
Utterly exquisite. Some dishes with an interesting twist, which you wouldn't necessarily guess from the menu. The octopus was superb and came with a leaf from the nettle family (tasty, harmless) that I've never sampled before. Lambs liver and herb mash very soft, and lashings of it.
Mrs K's melanzane parmigiano seemed to go down fine followed by tuna steak equally well appreciated. OK wine. Very nice staff, Italian hospitality. I would say this place is aiming to carve itself a niche that is a cut above pizza and pasta.
Good idea to go while they have a half-price promotion on the food, or it might be a bit steep - but a price worth paying even so, I'd guess, if they keep the quality up. In the long run, when their prices are regularised, I'd guess they will be hoping for a regular clientele from Crouch End or Upper Stroud Green.
Glad you liked it, Krappy. I had the octopus; I thought it was going to be the highlight until my monkfish arrived. Mrs Poxy thought the same with her tuna starter. However her duck main course was probably the true highlight of the meal. We'll definitely be back.
Went to incontro tonight - excellent food and great host. The fried pecorino cheese was a highlight!
Better marketing may help as it tends not to be busy.
You have to go - You know it makes sense!
Krappy, I was wondering just that this morning! I voted incontro on the basis we've not been, husband voted season on the basis we know it's great. Maybe see you there!
Hmmm, looks like Cats. Why? Don't often go. Not very romantic but on last visit six months ago, one of their Thai specials was utterly, utterly, utterly delicious. Maybe they have a new chef. Views?
It's my girls' favourite restaurant, mostly on account of the tuk tuk and fish, so we are regulars. I actually think the food is pretty good, and it has a cosy charm. You won't be wowed though.

And this after the sushi place, Ohba Leaf, in Crouch End closed with little notice last week.
