There is absolutely no comparison between Tony's and Baldwins.... Just a different league. The only thing Tony's does have over baldwins is proximity and convenience....
Not anything concrete, but on my way home I passed the ESB and it had its lights on with two women inside talking. Perhaps new management will be coming soon?
i know sorry i was in a rush and trying to remember more information but that's actually all i can remember so i just went for it. it'll be called walnut. probably/possibly. successful female chef. SORRY i know i'm being annoying.
We went to Walnut for the first time this morning. It is really stylish and comfortable - they did a really good job with the refurbishment of Exeter Street Baker which I thought was always too utilitarian and not really a pleasant place to eat. The staff are friendly and efficient. It has a short but tempting menu. I had the best cooked breakfast I have had in a long while - delicious mushroom, free range bacon and sausage, perfect fried eggs and homemade baked beans. I'm looking forward to going there for dinner soon. I hope people in the local area will support it as I think it's a real boon for the neighbourhood.
Had dinner here on Friday evening. Fantastic food as it was excellent. Front of house is still finding its feet but with a bit of patience that was okay
@Holborn Fox, there's quite a difference between parents with pushchairs and the Range Rover/Lulu Lemon brigade. There's quite a lot of anti-child/anti-parents sentiment on this site. It's a good thing none of you were ever children who went out in public.
Fair to warn people. Lots of compliments for the food and decor.
I've given up trying to have any kind of lunch locally because I don't want to be surrounded by kids running about screaming or babies crying. I know, people have to go out and want to take offspring with them. I'm not anti children, I'm anti irresponsible parents who can't teach their children good manners and respect for others.
@Holborn Fox, don't worry, no risk of that! I was referring to the conflation of people I don't care for either with those who simply happen to be parents.
@miss annie, yes, I too can't abide irresponsible parents who haven't taught their crying babies good manners yet.
I find the nursery and older age children who aren't told not to kick the back of other people's chairs and not to run about shrieking while other people are eating the most annoying. Stroud Green restaurants have lost not just my custom because of lackadaisical parenting.
Still, I have discovered some absolutely brilliant lunch spots away from Nappy Valley that only seem to attract adults so I'm sticking to them.
There is indeed a difference between children being children, and children being spoiled little shits who should be told better. I can tolerate the former but not the latter!

You should Google Emma, she has quite a record.
Emma if you read this the very best with your enterprise.
Same here.
My comment was actually due to people's sentiments, but cheers anyway dude, don't go buying an overfinch.
