Next overground closure - Crouch Hill bridge being raised

I overheard station staff at Crouch Hill talking to another passenger about the November 18-January 14 closing, and apparently Network Rail is proposing to raise the Crouch Hill bridge this time after all, contrary to what was said earlier. Unfortunately the train arrived before I had the chance to ask questions, but I'll see if the same person is around tomorrow and able to give more details.

The news letter says that jacking up the bridge will happen latter that activity is also not mentioned in the NR Press Release, so who knows

Latest on the bridge closure phase 1 3rd Jan to 18th Feb. Partial closure for road traffic, narrow lanes traffic lights pedestrians only on the station side, phase 2 19th Feb until 29th April. Bridge closes to all traffic, still be able to walk or push a bike across. Phase 3 30th April to 1st June similar to phase one but reversed. I guess the buses will get diverted phase 2 prob via Stapleton Hall Road Fern Park and Mountview Road

Away from stations they often try to lower the track but at Crouch Hill they'd have to rebuild the station too so that would be ££ and very disruptive

Is this actually stopping trains running ? or is just the road hassle we have to put up with.

Yeah, Monday according to the info we were given and the posters at the station. I bet there'll be more weekend closures though.
