My boiler thankfully hasn't broken down but it's very close to being on its last legs. So I want to get it replaced in good time rather than in a broken panic.
Who is currently pick of the crop for local recommendations to do such work? Thanks!
I used GB Plumbing who were brilliant. I had five quotes to change and move a boiler. They all said 5-14 days. GB did it in a day and a half and that was 4 ears ago. Brillliant, polite, professional service and they come once a year for the service.
I just had a problem with my hot water cylinder. Ben wasn't available so I used GB Plumbing, based on this recommendation. Gareth had a job in N4 that day so came by that evening (Wednesday). It turned out that the pressure expansion vessel had blown. He wasn't able to repair it or even replace it temporarily as it was unsafe, but he came back on Saturday (when he wasn't planning on working) to install a new cylinder. I was very impressed with his work, and he seemed like a good egg.
I think Ben is great, but Gareth also seemed to do an excellent job and is very nice too.
A complete cylinder; he couldn't get the old pressure vessel back on, so would have had to get a new one, with no guarantee that it would fit properly. That on top of the time already spent would have been quite pricey. The old cylinder was a good 13-14 years old, not great to begin with, developing small leaks, etc, so we decided to get a whole new one.
Well it should be much more efficient anyway, I used to spend my whole life telling people to keep the cylinder and NOT fit a combi when I was on the tools.
