Council tax - I'm a bit confused

Sorry about this, but thought maybe someone here might be able to enlighten me. I live on Albert Road, which I have always believed was Haringey. I've paid Haringey council tax. But now I'm getting a text from Islington to pay Islington council tax. I'm so confused. Does anyone know what's going on?

You are definitely Haringey. I live in Islington, and in 18 years of living in this borough they have never communicated by text.

Albert Road is in Haringey, The council would not send text, do not answer the text or give details. If you are still unsure on Monday maybe give Islington Council a ring to let them know scammers have a new scam.

The thing to do with spam texts is report them to your phone network operator by forwarding to 7726 (spells 'SPAM' on a phone keypad). Ofcom/ICO apparently do investigate and take action against this sort of thing if they get enough reports of it.

But never reply/respond to the spam itself or the perpetrator will simply use this to know it's a live phone number, and send you yet more spam.
