Hi - just wondering if there is a whatsapp/signal etc group for Hanley Road? I’m relatively new to the road, and it would be great to connect with everyone.

Corbyn St, Thorpedale Rd and Wray crescent all have them - hyperlocalism! I'll ask if anyone in Corbyn knows a Hanley one.

I'm on Hanley. No WhatsApps to my knowledge unless we've upset everyone over the years and haven't been invited! Can't say HR lends itself to a community vibe as its population is so transient and detached because of all the flats and the fact that its so much busier. Would love that to change, but unlikley. If we had a street party, the buses would all have to go down Corbyn Street. Lol.

Apparently the Wray crescent group includes Hanley Road (empire building), according to Hora the master of Corbyn St. I'll message you the contact number he gave me.

The fairy lights on Corbyn Street look fantastic, i was not sure if it was a Christmas thing or if they are staying up?

They are staying up until equinox. They started out as an Xmas/Hannukah/Diwali thing but we like them so much we have agreed to keep them up for a while.

@krappyrubsnif I suspect Hora would be outraged, it just struck me as appropriate ... Go for Zargon the Archwizard, definitely. Like the lights - anything to add a little joy to the bleakness of lockdown in winter!
