Labour has now barred the Ex Leader of Haringey Council from standing which may be connected. Locally Labour councillors have been more or less invisible for months. Even if I was a inclined to vote Labour I would have no idea what I was voting for given the level of infighting.
Looks like Stroud green Labour have chosen their candidates Clr Culverwell continues - he is desperate to become Mayor so hangs on - the other two seem to be Momentum choices - would love to have been a fly on the wall when that was sorted out. Our last two momentum preferred councillors were fairly invisible unless they were squabbling within their group. The Lib Dems have been very active and involved for some months now (knocked my door twice & seemed to know what they were talking about). Will be interesting.
I know we're not really meant to be talking politics here, but Luke Cawley-Harrison of the Lib Dems has helped us several times when the local Labour Councillors are doing nothing. As I live in a leasehold through the council, his help with my neighbours ended up with a large charge rebate that Homes For Haringey was refusing to issue.
Never going back to labour after the past few years. It sealed the deal for me when I learned that David Lammy, (who lives in Stroud Green somewhere) rents out properties on the ladder. This seemed t me to go against all his cha over the years.
At least the Greens and Lib Dems are not playing games on a local level.
I’ve heard a few good things about Luke - he was pushing for the council to use extra government money during the pandemic for here in Stroud Green. Never good to look a gift horse in the mouth.
Thanks @Sulker I do often wonder if there’s any point to the Labour Party existing these days. (Please try not to confuse Haringey with Harringay, though.)

I haven't seen much chat about it though and no-one has come canvassing!
