top celeb spot
  • I used to see him doing his recycling.
  • Fact of the Day (copyright SimonB): Michael Palin is much taller in real life than he looks on the telly, mainly because he spent quite a lot of time standing next to John Cleese, who is a giant.

  • A reliable source. MP being spotted kind of confirms what I had heard !
  • I guess MP must get the No 4 bus to the tube station before walking up SGR. as I believe he lives in Tufnell Park
  • Reliable source?

Ali, you need to become a more reliable source - this is the kind of idle, celebrity tittle-tattle that deserves a new thread as soon as you hear it.

  • Ali, your stalker tendencies and fascination with famous people is starting to worry me

  • Never thought of my self as one although I did collect famous golfer autographs when I was a kid! Got Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicholas etc but I was only 10
  • Stephen Merchant, as I live an breathe. Walking towards Fin Fin Park, outside of Cats. Then I thought it can't be, he's due on 6 music any minute, but got home and guess what? He's not on today! (Though it's probably pre-recorded anyway.)

  • top notch spot. spending his day off on SGR. is he as massive as TV suggests?

  • He's quite tall, yes - I'd guess 6' 4"?

  • I guess there is zero chance of me spotting anyone, never heard of any of them.
  • Oh, nice thread. How did i not notice this before? Because without it, there would be no one to care that I saw Alison Steadman in Crouch End near the clocktower about 3 weeks ago. We really have to allow ourselves Crouchy because there are only like 3 slebs in SG and it sounds like you've seen them all, but there are thousands of them up there in the posh lands. And they're all so tall. I'd say Ms Steadman was 7' 1".
  • You should check out the 'how tall are you?' thread, because it sounds like you're titchy.

  • as a general rule, i have found that normally celebs are smaller than anticipated.

    and scrawnier.

  • I once saw Mark from Eastender/Tucker from Grange Hill (depending on how old you are)

All I could notice was how big his head was, and how massive the hat was he was wearing in order to pretend to hide.
  • In the Observer magazine, I am always troubled by the size of Mariella Frostrup's head in the picture they use. I can't believe it's really that out of proportion. It's like a satellite dish wearing a blond wig.

  • You'll also notice how hard it is to find a google image search of Mariella Frostrup that isn't from the chin up

    unless its been horribly photoshopped
  • stop that right now

  • *holds up hands, walks backwards slowly*
  • She lives in Crouch End too. I saw her pushing a pram and looking distinctly less groomed than in that (disturbing) photo about a year ago.

  • Was she in Pappagone?

OMG TEH SG.ORG TRIFECTA IS COMPLETED
  • I saw Super Hans in Mari e Monti (sp?) at lunchtime today. Has anyone been there? Is the food good?
  • I was in there then, too. Don't know who Super Hans is though!

  • That's odd, I was in there too.

Super Hans is a character from Peep Show. He looked pretty much 'in character' too.

Mari e Monte is great for a Sunday morning. Friendly and decent café food.
  • He lives around the corner from me and is quite often in character.
  • @Agaton Sax - what was he eating?

We went there yesterday and it was a positive experience.
  • @Tabbie - Afraid I couldn't tell you, he had his back to me and I was clutching at my cuppa tea for dear life on an almight hangover...

He must have made thousands from his First Direct ads, so I imagine he ordered the entire menu
  • I've just realised that 'Super' Hans is actually one of my neighbours!
  • Where do you live?
