  • Yeah, the other night I spotted a guy having a good old squizz at a bike which was locked up outside Tesco. I slowed down with my eyes on him, hoping he'd see I was watching, and someone else walking in the other direction came over and asked if he …
  • You can have the ones I have sitting in my drawer at home if you like, we don't use our compost bin any more.

  • Apparently I was signature #545.
  • Whether or not advertisers are pulling their business for PR reasons or not is moot - obviously it is for PR reasons, as they wouldn't want to be associated with a reviled publication. But it's not the effect that move has on the public that I car…
  • I've remembered, and thought about it. Last year seemed a pretty big deal, I guess because it was a "landmark" anniversary. It's a shame this year the bombings are tied up in News International's grubby machinations.

  • @Misscara - I think I know the one you mean; I've seen a little b&w cat wandering across the roofs with his chum. Yesterday morning one of them popped his head in our bedroom window and tried his best to get in the flat, he was very sweet and ch…
  • I think a lot of "boycotting" comes down to personal moral choice. There are brands and shops I don't feel comfortable buying or buying from, but I realise that my actions won't make a difference to their profits or success one way or another. I'd j…
  • I do agree with boycotting in principle - it needs to be a mass action with accompanying publicity, letter campaigns etc. if directed at an organisation like Tesco, otherwise it's pissing in the wind.
  • What do you mean by "support" - selling it? Anyway I don't know anything about that. The best thing you can do to protest about the Sun or NOTW or News International is not to buy or use any of their products.
  • Argh Leo Valentine, amazing!!

  • Stroud Green is going to be overrun with frogs! Or overhopped. Perhaps cat owners can encourage their cats to go after the excess frogs instead of indulging in bird massacre (but then we will be overrun with BIRDS! WHERE WILL IT END!). I have enjoy…

  • As opposed to whose?

  • Yes, we did. We called the leccy people and they said around 1000 houses in the area were out. They seemed to rectify the problem very quickly though, so although I missed Keeping Up With The Kardashians, I still caught Beyoncé's Glasto performance.…

  • When I went past the old Action for Children building in Highbury I noticed that they're going to have some shared ownership places - that would be a gorgeous building to live in (although it's unclear whether the building conversion itself will hav…
  • As someone who had a cat, looked after him well, and lost him to someone else who decided that he *must* be neglected because he ate the food she gave him (and then refused to let us have him back), I would be careful about trying to keep a cat just…
  • The person went away for six months without making provision to care for the cat at all?? Can they prove the cat is theirs? Is it microchipped? If yes, I would report the owner to the RSPCA.
  • @Arkady perhaps you could smuggle him in a pint with an orange in it? Also - ow. Pelvis horror.
  • Totally agree. The person who was brave enough to help someone in need and to tell the Police what he saw and heard is getting unnecessary flack from 2 particular people, based on other users' comments in this thread.
  • This guy made a statement based on what he saw and what the victim told him. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. It's what you're meant to do.
  • What should they do?
  • Hold on, is it 27million or 55million? That's a huge discrepancy.
  • That must have happened on Sunday - we went up there to see if we could use the exit at the end of the show on Saturday night, and a security guard was just about to lock the gate up. We were the last people he let through. Or maybe in the drunken…
  • I had a really super time! Although I was drunk out of my mind by the end (which is possibly why I have no recollection of riot vans on SGR)...
  • I...I don't understand why someone would do this..? Devilment?
  • The strike isn't about ticket office staff this time is it?
  • Right, what you've got to think about with juicers, smoothie makers, food processors: THE WASHING UP. It's not bothering to plonk a few bits of fruit in them that's the hassle, it's taking them apart and washing each component afterwards that's the …

  • It's almost impossible to know really why the latest strike has been called, between Bob's rhetoric, the papers' vitriol and LU's...I dunno, nonchalonce? I hate that word. Anyway if the situation is as I understand it, the guy who's been sacked this…
  • Who cares about looking into the windows when you could be driving one of those super sexy boob cars!
  • It's supremely ugly, but most new blocks of that kind are, so that's not really a surprise. It's lovely to have the scaffolding off the pavement finally though!
  • I'd heard of people taking away entire plant pots, but not selectively digging up plants - it seems like a really strange thing to do considering plants aren't exactly expensive.
