apparently a uk spin-off of the ace u.s. show started on itv this week, and i missed it! did anybody watch this? is it as lame as i'm imagining?

i do like a bit of l&o, particularly SVU (mmm, mariska), but i can't imagine the drama levels being as high in the uk. i'm imagining mid-90s "the bill" crossed with "rumpole" and not feeling too hopeful...

I thought it was good, but couldn't get over the fact that whilst the American shows deal with murders or mass-rapists with a strange sort of glamour, the British equivolent appears to be a dodgy landlord and carbon monoxide poisoning.

The noise "duuuuhDUNKDUNK" from L&O remains. It's the most jarring thing about it.

I was most surprised to see Lee Adama from Battlestar Galactica in it, being teamed up with Bradley Walsh for the most part. Is he our version of Ice-T then?
