In my incredible naivety i double-checked on said service and clearly saw the mentioned telly-shop, however embedded into an amended sequence of pictures. What bad things will happen to me now?
I know 4OD's '3 Sponsors Original Comedy' ads with the woeful Spencer Brown (I have seen his stand-up - even made Shaapi Kohrsandi look good that night!) that were inserted on 4OD's versions of Charlie Brooker's 'You Have Been Watching' were enough to put me off streaming the shows. Maybe they were intended to make the actual show (a career low for Crouch Ender Brooker, surely) appear funnier than it was.
[edit: I now see that these ads were on the TV too - I don't have a telly so assumed they were only on the web, they were such low kwality]
I don't mind regular adverts, but that was up there with the old Dorito's sponsorship ads that used to be in ITV saturday night movies. (A photo of Bogart/whoever with a cartoon mouth munching on a nacho).
Have therefore returned to torrents for my tv shows...
So can we assume there will soon be a pic of Andy and his iPhone standing outside Clinton Cards on streetview?
The camera on the blackberry is crap, but it's good for email. Typing on the iphone is a joke.
And yes, you'll be able to see how long it takes google to update its street view pages by looking at Crouch End Broadway and seeing if there is a bloke taking a photo on it.
landscape mode... is SHIT. and there's no way to turn it off without jailbreaking.
my personal auto-correct bugbear is that it changes reading to Reading! also white to White. and marmite to marmots.
anyway the iphone camera would not even be able to take a picture of a slowly moving streetview car that clearly.
despite all these horrendous faults i love it dearly of course. currently loving the new brian eno app making whizzy sound pictures.
I saw a guy cycling home tonight with a special iphone holder on his handlebars, so the phone was presented slightly tilted towards and in front of him. At first I thought it must be some whizzy cycle performance monitoring app (which probably exists), but peering over he was just listening to Pixie Lott. Or perhaps he just had a picture of her to look at while cycling and wasn't listening to anything. Lord knows I'd rather look at her than listen to her.
I would like to have seen him try and navigate Proctor Street while using landscape mode.
The bad things I heard about 4OD were not political or artistic (though I'm agreed that You Have Been Watching was a brand-extension too far for the normally genius Brooker), purely technical - it's ballsed up the computers of some people I know, and just been terribly glitchy for others, so when I'm outside the BBC channels I just stick to ye olde VHS.
the old 4od software that you had to install did mess up my computer, and when it happened I discovered loads of forums where this was discussed.
Now its all web based though and you don't have to let it install the dreaded KService.exe I think it was that keeps coming back even when you tell it not to and is the root of all this badness.
Saw the google streetcar today on Tollington Park at the junction with Stroud Green road. If it was still taking pictures, waiting in the queue for the lights, I was carrying a big bunch of flowers for Becky so my thoughtfulness would be preserved on the Internet for all to see ...
I saw it on Hanley Road a week or two back, and it seemed to be pretty thoroughly winding in and out of sidestreets - surprised that it should still be in the area now.
I was caught in some of my scruffiest clothes. Cheers, Google.

The Google StreetView car was prowling the neighbourhood again yesterday. I took this in Crouch End.

You need to hone your stalking skillz...

I think I can count on one hand the times men have bought me flowers, and most of those times will be because I will have said 'I require flowers'.
