Parcel theft from Astra House

edited September 2009 in Local discussion
I was expecting a parcel delivery on Thursday and asked for the parcel to be taken in by a neighbour. My neighbour was at home all day and the parcel did not arrive. I rang the company who I ordered the goods from and was told that a courier had delivered the parcel between 2-4pm and left a card too. I spoke to all my neighbours, nobody has signed for the parcel! I phoned the company again who spoke to the courier who had delivered it. She said that the door was opened by a lady in her forties with long dark brown hair tied in a ponytail she signed for my parcel. The thing is there is nobody of that description living in this block of flats!!
I phoned the police they were not at all interested and said I should contact the local Crime Management Unit which I will do.
Just wondered if anyone else has been a victim of parcel theft recently by the same woman??

Have you tried enquiring at the house number that matches your flat number further down the Villas? We get post for the Astra House flat number corresponding to our address all the time.... This is often because automatic address programmes may not differentiate between the two. On the telephone, a sales person may only ask for the street name (Mount Pleasant Villas) and then "the number" - if someone then says the flat number, the postcodes get filled in for lower down the hill.
