Diana and Beckham may be vacuous arses, but so far as I'm aware neither of them managed a single murder, let alone millions. Even Boy George's kidnapping and beating of a rentboy was a pretty poor showing in terms of crimes against humanity.
  • Any views on where Churchill might be placed in the bodycount stakes?

Killing aggressors in a war of defence is not morally equivalent to killing your own people in pursuit of a deranged ideology (or simple paranoia, in the case of many of Stalin's victims). Same as kidnapping is wrong, but slamming a kidnapper in gaol isn't. It's really very simple.
  • Oh Yes!!!

    Sorry

but yeah, Churchill doesn't count... there was at least some kind of provocation... like the whole invasion thing and killing people because they wouldn't buy his paintings..
  • People in "Iraq" wouldn't buy his paintings?
    Sorry, you've lost me.

Hi, Philistine. Sorry about the delay in replying; I've been out of the country for a while and not online. Good books on Stalin? The best is Un Autre Regard Sur Staline (also available in English as A Different View Of Stalin) by Ludo Martens, Brussels, EPO Publishers.

    Communist greetings,
    Steve
