The butcher shop was most interesting. Made all the more so by its location. Really interesting guy that owns it too. He's looking for ideas as to how he can put it back into use. He may pop around here looking for ideas.
Hornsey Town Hall is much bigger - and grander - than I thought and the redevelopment can't come soon enough if you ask me.
We also visited three private houses. These ranged from downright odd to outright lustworthy.
I have always wondered about that Butchery. The Costcutter next door is my first point of call for emergency dinner supplies...
Where were the private houses, phil?
Open House 2010 - I've just had a email from the Open House people, it's on 18th and 19th September this year, booking advisable for most venues. There are lots of local places open for the weekend.
Thought I'd share the tip off,(although I expect many of you are ahead of the game with this), as there are a number of SG'ers who take a very keen interest in architecture, streetscapes and their surroundings.

That butchers shop is beautiful, really worth popping in - he's open again this year.
I actually went to view this property when it was for sale about 4 years ago. Beautiful tiled room. I would have bought it as an artist's studio perhaps, but it wasn't the sort of place I'd like to inhabit. There's a kitchen, bedroom and bathroom at the back but it was all pretty grim; a place in which I imagine someone like Buffalo Bill would skin girls.
And it's on Hornsey Rd, so you'd have folks peering in through your front window.
A young American chap, seemed very nice, though I imagine that other than one weekend a year he does wonder what to do with the space. I didn't spot any stray moths.
