Music Promoters

Long shot - my friends band are looking to possibly play a gig in London late July - August. Does anyone put on band/gig nights at reasonable sized venues or know anyone that does? I'm expecting CD's any day but they're best described as Post-Rock.

Feel free to whisper contacts!

Thanks

Can you not go via the established bods? Bugbear run Dublin Castle and Hope and Anchor live music. Also Plum Promotions used to, but can't find their website. Getting a gig in London is reasonably easy, getting paid for it - not so much.

There's another chap who runs Mother bar gigs and Bar and Musichall on Curtain Road., will try to dig up his details.

    Much appreciated Graeme!

If they're looking for local gigs then ask for Lester at the World's End - he's the promoter there and for a number of other venues. A

My friend Seb puts on post-rock and similar gigs. He used to do a night at the World's End on Stroud Green Road but I think he's moved over to Cross Kings now, I believe...

Thanks Georgiegirl - looks exactly the type of thing the boys do!

The Gaff on Holloway Road quite often let bands play the warm up gig for free, which will add to their list of play outs!

I thought the Gaff was now taking more of a narrow punk/metal focus? They used to have a really good and varied bill, but all the stuff that didn't fit the new remit was gradually getting forced out.

You could try Headphones Off - which is run by a colleague of mine.

The music taste there is fairly eclectic.

Last night I went to the new place opposite Finsbury Park station (where the gaslight pub was) It's called The Silver Bullet, it's there for 7months then moving somewhere else in the UK. There was quite strange electro type stuff being played, but i'm sure they need bookings?!....
  • Hey Georgiegirl, do you have an email address for your friend you could whisper to me?

Drift - yeah, I've been to the SB - pretty cool. Anyone know who's handling their bookings?

The Silver Bullet is remarkably good. Good value, nice interior, superlative sound system. Go. In fact go next Wednesday, I'll be playing. A

Silver Bullet promoter is Claire who used to do The Old Blue Last.
There is an email contact on their website.
